If you pay for iCloud+ storage on your iPhone, check your account right now: Apple just quietly gave you Apple TV.
There’s no new subscription required, no extra cost, and no sign-up form. It’s just been added to your existing plan.
This is a massive deal because it marks the first time Apple TV has been officially available in Kenya. Apple confirmed the change this month as part of a wider rollout covering 102 countries and regions.
Interestingly, while countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey, and the UAE are on the list, major markets like the US, UK, and South Africa are not. For once, Kenya is getting a major perk before the bigger markets do.
What Changes (and What Doesn’t)
If you’re already paying for an iCloud+ plan—the one that gives you extra storage for photos, device backups, Hide My Email, and iCloud Private Relay you don’t need to do a thing. Apple TV and Apple Arcade are simply added on top of what you already have.
- The Price: The cheapest tier (50GB) stays exactly the same at $0.99 a month (roughly KES 128). Every tier from 50GB upwards now includes both streaming and gaming services.
- Family Sharing: You can share this access with up to five other people through Apple’s Family Sharing feature.
- Apple Arcade: You now have access to Apple’s premium games catalogue, featuring over 200 titles for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV 4K, completely free of ads and in-app purchases.
If you happened to be paying for Apple Arcade on its own before this, your standalone subscription will automatically cancel, and you’ll be moved to the iCloud+ bundle with all your saves and progress kept intact. (Since Apple never sold Apple TV separately here, nobody in Kenya has to worry about cancelling that).
How to Check if It’s Active
Want to see if the perk has landed on your account? It’s simple:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the very top.
- Tap Subscriptions, then select iCloud+.
If Apple TV and Apple Arcade show up there, you’re covered. Keep in mind that the rollout date varies slightly by country, so if you don’t see it today, check back soon.
Note: The free Apple TV access covers Apple’s own original shows and films. It doesn’t include paid third-party channels or movie rentals inside the app.
The Ultimate Streaming Steal
When you look at the current streaming landscape in Kenya, this shakes things up completely. Netflix and Amazon Prime Video typically run anywhere from $8 to $15 a month on their own. Getting Apple TV bundled into a $0.99 storage plan changes the math—you aren’t paying for a separate streaming service; it’s just sitting inside a utility you likely already pay for.
And this isn’t just filler content. Apple TV is coming off its biggest year ever at the 2026 Emmys, taking home 28 awards total—more than any other studio, including heavyweights like HBO Max and Netflix.
The hit comedy Widow’s Bay won an unprecedented 14 Emmys (the most any comedy series has ever won in a single year), while Pluribus picked up six, and Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Palm Royale took three each. You also get access to massive global hits like Severance, Dark Matter, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Silo, Shrinking, F1 (the Brad Pitt film), and the 2021 Best Picture Oscar winner, CODA.
Considering Apple TV launched globally in 2019 at $4.99 a month and has racked up over 900 awards since, getting this catalogue for free as part of a dollar storage plan is an incredible deal.
One More Thing: Cheaper Apple Music
Apple is also throwing in a bonus: Apple Music Select. This is a set of ad-free radio stations included in the iCloud+ update.
While it’s not on-demand listening (you can’t pick specific songs), being an iCloud+ subscriber now gets you a steep discount if you do want the full Apple Music experience. An individual plan drops to $2.79 a month (down from the regular price), and a family plan drops to $4.49. The only catch is that both subscriptions need to be billed through the same Apple Account.
While Apple One the mega-bundle combining iCloud+, Music, TV, and Arcade for around $20—still isn’t available in Kenya, there isn’t much reason to want it anymore. With Apple TV and Arcade now folded into the cheapest iCloud+ tier, you’re already getting the best parts for a fraction of the cost.
