Safaricom Home Fibre delivers fast, reliable, and unlimited internet directly to your home. When you subscribe, you receive a Wi-Fi router that provides both wireless and LAN connectivity. While there are multiple payment options including M‑PESA and USSD, this guide specifically explains how to use Bonga points to settle your Home Fibre subscription charges.

Can You Use Bonga Points?

Yes—but only for new subscriptions or renewals. You cannot use Bonga points when modifying your plan. A one‑time installation fee of KSh 3,000 is charged for new connections, in addition to your monthly package price

Step-by-Step: Paying with Bonga Points via USSD

  1. Dial *400#.
  2. Select Manage Subscriptions.
  3. Pick your Home Fibre account.
  4. Choose Renew Subscription.
  5. Select Bonga Points as the payment method.
  6. Confirm and enter your service PIN if prompted.
  7. A confirmation SMS will follow once payment clears

Alternate Payment Methods

If you prefer not to use Bonga Points or they’re insufficient:

  • M-PESA PayBill:
    Dial M-PESA → Lipa na M‑PESA → PayBill 150501 → Account number → Amount → PIN
  • Safaricom Self-Care Portal or MySafaricom App:
Through the portal or app, navigate to Home Fibre billing to pay manually using M-PESA or card options

Why Pay with Bonga Points?

  • It’s a fee-free option if you have accumulated enough points.
  • A convenient way to offset subscription costs without spending cash.
  • Ensures continuity of your Home Fibre service with minimal effort.

Additional Tips & Insights

  • Bonga Points earn rate: 1 point per KSh 10 spent on voice, SMS, data, and M‑PESA services
  • Check your Bonga balance via *126# before attempting a payment to ensure you have enough points.
  • If your points fall short, you can top up the rest with cash via M‑PESA.
  • If payment fails or you encounter an error, customer care can assist: dial 100 for Prepay lines, or 200 for Postpay.

Possible Future Enhancements to Watch

  • Support for using Bonga points for plan upgrades or changes.
  • Ability to combine partial Bonga redemption with card payments.
  • Integration of Bonga payments directly via the fibre-specific app.
  • Detailed transaction history display on the Safaricom portal for review.

Summary

Using Bonga points to pay for your Safaricom Home Fibre subscription offers a simple, zero-cost alternative to traditional payment methods. Just dial *400#, follow the prompts to renew your account, select Bonga points, and you’re done. You’ll receive a confirmation instantly via SMS. Should you choose to switch payment methods, M‑PESA PayBill or the Safaricom app and portal remain reliable options.
