Applying for a Fish Angling License in Uganda is a mandatory process regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). This license allows individuals to engage in fishing for pleasure using a single rod, reel, or line, ensuring sustainable fishing practices and compliance with national fisheries laws.
Application Process
To apply for a Fish Angling License Uganda, visit the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries office in person. Before approval, the Ministry will confirm that the applicant meets all regulatory requirements for angling in designated waters.
Applicants must obtain and fill out the prescribed application form provided under the regulations of the Ministry. The form must be accompanied by the required license fee as specified in the Fourth Schedule to the Fisheries Regulations.
It is also important for applicants to verify which angling waters are available in their local area and the types of fishing allowed by the Authority. In case of non-compliance, the Fisheries Department may recommend improvements before approval is granted.
