Applying for a Fishing Vessel Permit Uganda is a mandatory process for anyone operating a fishing vessel in Uganda’s waters. This permit ensures compliance with the country’s fisheries regulations and promotes responsible fishing under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF).

Application Procedure

Applicants must apply in person at the Department of Fisheries and Natural Resources under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries. Start by obtaining the official application form for the Fishing Vessel Permit Uganda from the Ministry offices.

After completing the form, submit it along with the necessary identification documents. The Department will verify the application to ensure the applicant is operating a registered fishing vessel and meets all the set standards.

Next, pay the prescribed license fee. Payments can be made in cash, by cheque payable to the Accountant General, or via credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Once payment is confirmed, the department processes and issues the Fishing Vessel Permit within seven working days.
