Overview
Founded in 1972 and registered under the Co-operative Societies Act (Cap 490) with registration number CS 2077, Asili Sacco Society has grown into a prominent deposit-taking Savings and Credit Co-operative Society in Kenya. Initially serving employees of the Ministry of Natural Resources, it now welcomes members from all sectors. Licensed and regulated by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA), Asili Sacco operates both Back Office Service Activity (BOSA) and Front Office Service Activity (FOSA). With over 11,000 members and an asset base of KES 3.13 billion, the Sacco is headquartered at Asili Co-op Centre on Ngara Road, Nairobi.

Membership Requirements
Membership requirements vary depending on the type of account.
Individual Membership
Salaried Members
- Contribute a minimum share capital of KES 20,000
- Maintain a minimum monthly contribution of KES 3,000
- Pay a non-refundable entrance fee of KES 1,000
- Submit a copy of a National ID or valid passport
- Provide one recent passport-size photograph
- Include a KRA PIN certificate
Business Members
- Contribute a minimum share capital of KES 20,000
- Maintain a minimum monthly contribution of KES 3,000
- Complete a membership application form
- Submit a copy of a National ID or valid passport
- Provide one recent passport-size photograph
- Include a KRA PIN certificate
- Pay a non-refundable entrance fee of KES 1,000
Group Membership
- Provide a copy of minutes with a resolution to open an account
- Submit a copy of the group’s registration certificate
- Include the group’s constitution
- Provide copies of relevant KRA certificates
- Submit copies of signatories’ identity cards
- Include passport-size photographs of the signatories
- Provide a list of group members’ details
- Designate four signatories: three group officials and one group member
- List authorized signatories for the account
- Maintain a minimum account opening balance of KES 5,000
