TSC Announces Recruitment for 9,159 New Teaching Jobs

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has officially opened its online replacement portal after announcing 9,159 new teacher vacancies for 2025. Interested applicants have until 8th December 2025 to submit their applications. The positions cover primary, junior, and secondary schools across the country.

According to the advertisement, the vacancies arise from teachers who left service through natural attrition. The TSC intends to recruit 7,065 teachers for primary schools, 12 for junior schools, and 2,082 for secondary schools, all on Permanent and Pensionable terms.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for these opportunities, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen
  2. Hold a P1 certificate for primary school positions
  3. Hold at least a Diploma in Education for junior and secondary school positions
  4. Be fully registered with the Teachers Service Commission

How to Apply

All applications must be submitted online through the TSC website at www.tsc.go.ke under the ‘Careers’ section or via teachersonline.tsc.go.ke. The application window closes at midnight, 8th December 2025. Applicants can also view vacancy details per county or individual school through the TSC website.

Important Information for Applicants

  • The 2025/2026 TSC Recruitment Guidelines will apply throughout the exercise.
  • Merit lists generated for both primary and secondary school positions will be used for any subsequent recruitment within the financial year.
  • Shortlisted candidates must present original academic and professional certificates during verification.
  • Submitting more than one Application for Employment Form leads to automatic disqualification.
  • Manual applications will not be accepted.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have never been employed by the TSC before.
  • Successful recruits may be posted anywhere in the country, regardless of where the interviews were conducted.
  • The TSC is an equal opportunity employer, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Warning Against Fraud

The Commission emphasized that the recruitment process is free of charge. Applicants are cautioned to be alert to fraudsters posing as intermediaries. Any suspected fraudulent activity should be reported to the nearest TSC office or to the TSC headquarters via the following contacts:
