Overview

Established in 1977 by employees of Securicor Security (now G4S Security), Nyati Savings and Credit Co-operative Society is a prominent deposit-taking Sacco, licensed in 2016 under the Sacco Societies Act of 2008. Regulated by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA), Nyati Sacco promotes a savings culture and provides loans for personal development, education, and emergencies. With an asset base of KES 4.58 billion, a loan portfolio of KES 3.53 billion, a share capital of KES 148 million, and a membership of 27,367, the Sacco is headquartered at Odyssey Plaza, 2nd Floor, South B, Mukoma Road, Nairobi.

Who Can Join?

Nyati Sacco welcomes members from various groups, including:

  • Employees of organizations with check-off agreements, such as G4S Secure Data Solutions, Tandu Alarms, Drugnet Limited, Turtle Bay Resort, Absolute Security, Secure Contractors, Buffalo Bicycles, Estec Kenya, Cloves Management, Kleen Homes, Wecan Security, Gulf Energy, and Cobra Security
  • Employees of other organizations approved by the Sacco’s board
  • Former employees of companies with check-off agreements
  • Nyati Sacco employees
  • Spouses and children of existing members, introduced in writing by the member

Membership Requirements

To join Nyati Sacco, applicants must:

  • Complete a membership application form, available for download on the Sacco’s website or from its offices and county delegates
  • Provide a copy of a National ID, latest payslip, ATM card, and two colored passport-size photographs
  • Pay a one-time entry fee of KES 500
  • Contribute a minimum monthly deposit of KES 1,200
  • Maintain a minimum share capital of KES 3,000
