The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has officially opened the 2025 police recruitment drive, unveiling a fully digital application system designed to eliminate bribery, favoritism, and other unfair practices that have plagued the process in the past. The new reforms aim to promote merit-based selection, professionalism, and public trust, making this year’s recruitment one of the most transparent in Kenya’s history.
In a statement issued on September 5, the Commission emphasized that fairness and professionalism are at the heart of the new framework, with technology playing a central role in closing past loopholes.
“These proposed regulations aim to streamline the recruitment of members of the Service to promote transparency and ensure merit-based selection in the recruitment process,” the NPSC noted.
A total of 10,000 police constable positions are available this year, with 4,000 slots specifically reserved for National Youth Service (NYS) graduates.
Why the Digital Shift Matters
By moving the entire recruitment process online, the NPSC is taking a major step toward eliminating middlemen who have historically exploited applicants. The initiative is expected to restore public confidence in police hiring and ensure that only qualified candidates are considered.
