To access Jitambulishe, you must be an active Safaricom customer. The service applies to Prepaid, Individual Postpay, and Hybrid lines. If your line changes ownership, the registered voice profile is erased, and the new owner must register a new voiceprint.
How to Enroll in Jitambulishe
To register your voice as your identity:
- Call 100, 234, or for Postpay users, 200.
- Choose either english or Kiswahili.
- Select the Jitambulishe voice enrollment option.
- Enter your National ID number followed by #.
- Clearly repeat the fallback phrase “At Safaricom my voice is my password” or “Safaricom sauti yangu ndio kitambulisho changu” three times as prompted.
- Enter your M‑PESA PIN to finalize the process.
Once successfully recorded, your voice print securely replaces traditional passwords when using customer support services.
How to Delete Your Voice Profile
If you decide to opt out:
- Dial 100, 234, or 200, and select a language.
- Navigate to the Jitambulishe section.
- Choose the option to delete your voice password.
- Repeat the voice phrase once more.
- You’ll receive confirmation that your voiceprint is deleted.
How to Re-Enroll or Update Your Voice
To update or re-record your voice:
- Dial 100, 234, or 200 and select your language.
- Go to the Jitambulishe menu and choose Update Voice Password.
- Repeat your chosen passphrase three times.
- Follow the prompts to confirm.
- After completion, your voice print will be replaced with the new recording.

Once enrolled, you can authenticate your identity using voice and access several services via the customer care line without additional verification:
- Retrieve your PUK to unblock your SIM
