Procedure for Attestation or Apostille Legalization

1. Applying Inside the UAE

  • Initial Preparation:
    • Have your documents notarized by a local notary public or the issuing university, if required.
    • Make an appointment with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) through their official link.
  • Submission Process:
    1. Visit the MOFA office on your appointment date.
    2. Collect the application form from the attending officer and complete it carefully. Incomplete forms are not accepted.
    3. Attach photocopies of all required documents (see “Required Documents” below).
    4. Submit the completed form with attachments to the officer.
    5. Pay the prescribed fee as directed.
    6. The authority will review your submission. If additional information is required, you will be contacted. Processing will resume once the requested details are provided.
    7. Updates on your application status will be sent via SMS to your registered mobile number.
    8. Once approved, you will receive a notification by email.

Processing Time: Applications are generally completed within 30 days, depending on document type and completeness.


2. Applying Outside the UAE

  • Initial Preparation:
    • Approach the nearest UAE Embassy or Consulate.
    • Make an appointment via the embassy or consulate’s official website.
  • Submission Process:
    1. Attend your appointment at the embassy or consulate.
    2. Collect and complete the application form accurately.
    3. Attach photocopies of all required documents.
    4. Submit your application along with the fee.
    5. The embassy or consulate will review your documents and may request further details if necessary.
    6. Updates will be sent via SMS, and approval notifications will be emailed once processing is complete.
