Originally registered on May 1, 1998, as Kirinyaga District Farmers Sacco Society, Fortune Sacco emerged from the banking sector of the Kirinyaga District Co-operative Union to become an independent Savings and Credit Co-operative Society. Rebranded in 2008, it now serves over 125,000 members with an asset base exceeding KES 5.56 billion. Headquartered at Fortune Plaza in Kerugoya Town, Fortune Sacco is a leading deposit-taking Sacco dedicated to empowering its members through accessible financial services.
Who Can Join?

Membership Requirements
To become a member, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Not engage in money lending or activities contrary to the Sacco’s objectives
- Demonstrate good character
- Be introduced by an existing member
- Have a regular income from employment, business, or trade
- Align with the Sacco’s by-laws
- Understand the Sacco’s objectives and member obligations
Applicants must also provide:
- A copy of a National ID
- A one-time entrance fee of KES 100
- 10 shares at KES 100 each (total KES 1,000)
- A passport-size photo taken at a branch
