Overview
Founded in 1972 as a banking section of the Meru Farmers Co-operative Union Ltd., Capital Sacco initially served dairy and coffee society members in Meru. In 2005, it became an independent entity known as Meru Farmers Sacco, and in 2012, it rebranded to Capital Sacco to embrace a broader membership, including entrepreneurs, salaried individuals, institutions, youth, and children nationwide. With an asset base exceeding KES 4.49 billion, Capital Sacco is one of Kenya’s leading deposit-taking Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies. Its head office is located in Meru.
Membership Eligibility
Capital Sacco welcomes a diverse membership, including:
- Individuals aged 18 and above, of good character and sound mind
- Organizations, such as businesses or institutions
- Applicants who commit to a minimum share contribution
How to Join
To become a member, applicants must:
- Complete a membership application form
- Pay a one-time registration fee of KES 200
- Purchase a minimum of 30 shares at KES 100 each (total KES 3,000)
