Kenya’s Blood Donation Network: Saving Lives Nationwide

The Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority (KTTA) oversees Kenya’s critical blood supply through a network of regional and satellite centers. Established in 2022, KTTA continues the vital work of collecting, testing, and distributing blood products to hospitals nationwide. With only 16% of needed blood currently collected (7 patients require transfusions every 10 minutes), donor participation remains crucial.
