Antenatal and Maternity Packages

1. Antenatal Package

  • Cost: KES 60,000
  • Inclusions:
  • 6 antenatal visits with a doctor (additional visits charged separately)
  • 2 postnatal visits for C-section deliveries (at 2 and 6 weeks)
  • 1 postnatal visit for normal deliveries (at 6 weeks)
  • 1 neonatal visit for the baby (at 2 weeks)
  • Prenatal tests, including laboratory investigations and 2 ultrasound scans
  • 1 physiotherapy session post-delivery
  • Notes: Covers routine prenatal care; high-risk pregnancies or extra tests may incur additional costs.

2. Normal Delivery Package

  • Cost: KES 90,000
  • Inclusions:
  • Fees for obstetricians, pediatricians, and resident registrar
  • Postnatal laboratory tests
  • 2-day stay in a normal ward bed for the mother
  • 2-day nursery stay for the baby, including vaccinations
  • 1 physiotherapy session post-delivery
  • Notes: Package assumes a low-risk delivery; complications may lead to additional charges.

3. Caesarean Section (C-Section) Package

  • Cost: KES 190,000
  • Inclusions:
  • All services in the Normal Delivery Package
  • Anaesthetist and theatre fees
  • 3-day stay in a normal ward bed for the mother
  • 3-day nursery stay for the baby, including vaccinations
  • 1 physiotherapy session post-delivery
  • Notes: Applies to planned or emergency C-sections; extra services outside the package are billed separately.

Bed Rates

The maternity packages include a normal ward bed, but private accommodations are available at additional cost, subject to availability:

  • Private Room: KES 14,500/day
  • En-suite Room: KES 23,500/day
  • North Wing:
  • Deluxe Suite: KES 45,000/day
  • Premier Suite: KES 65,000/day
  • Presidential Suite: KES 98,000/day

Payment Terms: Package fees must be paid in advance or by the day of admission, either in full or in installments. Private room costs are additional and not covered by the package.

Exclusions from Maternity Packages

The following services are not included in the packages and will be charged separately:

  • Medications or vitamin supplements

  • Repair of lacerations under general anesthesia

NHIF Coverage

  • Coverage: NHIF provides a daily bed rebate of KES 4,000.
  • Notes: Package rates exclude NHIF rebates. Non-NHIF members will be charged an additional KES 4,000 for the bed rebate. Confirm coverage details with the hospital or NHIF.

  • High-Risk Pregnancies: Packages are designed for low-risk pregnancies; complications may incur extra costs.
