Procedure to Apply for Registration with the Nursing & Midwives Council
- Contact the Council:
Nurses or midwives who wish to be entered into the Council Nursing/Midwife Roll/Register must first confirm their eligibility and contact the Nursing & Midwives Council to begin the registration process. - Sit for the Pre-Registration Examination:
Applicants must sit for a pre-registration Nursing and Midwifery Council’s Examination. The exam date and time will be communicated to the applicant in advance. Only successful candidates will move forward to the next step. - Complete the Registration Form:
After passing the national licensure examination, successful applicants must complete and submit the registration form. Ensure the form is signed and attested as instructed by the registrar. - Submit the Required Documents:
Complete the application and submit all the required documents as listed under the “Required Documents” section below. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. - Pay the Application Fee:

- National Registration Fee: GMD 500 per year.
- International Registration Fee: GMD 600 per year.

- Late Registration Fee: If you apply after the program completion date, additional charges will apply.
Validity of Registration
The Nursing and Midwives Council Registration Certificate is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. If the license is not renewed within 6 months, the registration will be canceled, and you will need to restart the registration process.
