The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) College of Medicine is a leading institution in specialized medical education, offering a variety of healthcare-related programs. Established in 2004, the college initially served as an upgrading center for enrolled community nurses. By 2009, it had gained full accreditation to offer a broader range of courses in health sciences.
The institution is officially recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and offers two diploma programs in nursing:

1. Diploma in Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN) – Full-Time
- Study Duration: 3 years (36 months)
- Mode of Study: Full-time
- Accreditation: Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK)
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- KCSE Mean Grade of C (Plain) or KCE Division III
- At least C or Credit in Biology or Biological Sciences
- At least C or Credit in English or Kiswahili
- A minimum of C- (Minus) or a Pass in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, or Physical Sciences
Tuition Fees:
- Year 1: Ksh 94,500
- Year 2: Ksh 97,125
- Year 3: Ksh 97,125
2. Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) – Distance Learning
- Study Duration: 2 years
- Mode of Study: Part-time (Distance learning)
- Accreditation: Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK)
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- Must be a registered Enrolled Community Health Nurse (KECI-IN)
- Must hold a valid NCK Registration Certificate
- Minimum of Division III or D+ in KCSE/KCE
- Must have a valid practicing license
- A recommendation letter from a current employer or supervisor (if employed)
