To import milk or milk products into Uganda, traders are required to obtain a Milk Import Licence from the Dairy Development Authority (DDA). This licence ensures that all imported dairy products meet Uganda’s national health, safety, and quality standards. It also enables the DDA to monitor milk imports and protect local consumers from unsafe or substandard products.
The process is straightforward and designed to ensure compliance with the Dairy Industry Act and other quality assurance regulations governing dairy products entering Uganda.
