Design and Display

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro was built with a sleek glass and metal design and had an IP67 rating, making it dust and water-resistant for added durability. The device featured a large 6.0-inch OLED HDR10 display with a 1080 × 2160 px resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio, offering vibrant colors, deep contrasts, and a truly immersive viewing experience. The Corning Gorilla Glass ensured the display was protected from scratches and minor impacts.

The absence of a headphone jack may have been a point of contention for some, but Huawei’s focus was clearly on modern design trends, opting instead for stereo speakers and enhanced audio features.

Performance and Storage

Powered by the Kirin 970 chipset with AI capabilities, the Mate 10 Pro was designed for efficient multitasking and smooth performance. The octa-core processor, along with options of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage or 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, provided plenty of space and power for gaming, video streaming, and heavy app usage. However, the lack of microSD expansion may have limited storage flexibility for some users.

The AI-driven performance of the Kirin 970 enhanced tasks such as image processing and battery optimization, making the phone smart and efficient.

Camera and Multimedia

The dual Leica cameras on the Mate 10 Pro were one of its standout features. The 12 MP RGB camera paired with a 20 MP monochrome sensor produced exceptional photo quality, especially in low-light conditions, thanks to features like optical image stabilization (OIS) and PDAF. The phone also supported 4K video recording, making it an excellent choice for content creators.

The 8 MP front camera with autofocus allowed for detailed selfies, and with 1080p video recording, it became an ideal choice for selfie enthusiasts.

With stereo speakers and 32-bit/384kHz audio support, the Mate 10 Pro delivered premium audio quality, making it a solid multimedia device, despite the removal of the headphone jack.

Battery and Connectivity

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro was equipped with a 4000 mAh battery, which supported 22.5W SuperCharge technology. With this fast-charging feature, you could get 58% charge in just 30 minutes, ensuring you won’t be without your phone for long. The battery endurance was impressive, lasting through a full day of usage, including video streaming, browsing, and gaming.

In terms of connectivity, the phone offered 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C 3.1, and NFC, with support for GPS, GLONASS, and BDS for reliable positioning.

Conclusion

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro was a flagship smartphone that delivered a premium design, powerful performance, and solid multimedia features, all wrapped in a sleek, water-resistant body. With its AI-driven chipset, dual Leica cameras, and fast charging capabilities, it stood out as a top-tier device in its class.

Though it is now discontinued, the Mate 10 Pro remains a compelling option for users looking for a smartphone that balances innovation, performance, and style. If you’re after a well-rounded device that excels in photography, performance, and design, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro remains a strong contender, even years after its release.
