From 2025 onward, Safaricom now offers digital‑stamped (e‑stamped) M‑PESA statements official, secure documents accepted by banks, SACCOs, embassies, legal firms, and other institutions. This eliminates the need to visit a Safaricom shop for physically stamped papers. With just a phone or computer, you can request and receive your statement conveniently in minutes.

What Makes It Official?

  • The document carries Safaricom’s official digital seal, confirming its authenticity.
  • It is generated directly by Safaricom’s systems and delivered as a password‑protected PDF via email.
  • The PDF cannot be altered, ensuring it’s tamper‑proof and accepted as a legitimate record.

How to Retrieve Your e‑Stamped M‑PESA Statement

*Option 1: Via USSD (334#)

This method works on both smartphones and basic feature phones:

  1. Dial *334# from your Safaricom line
  2. Navigate to My Account → M‑PESA Statement → Request Statement
  3. Choose a duration: one, three, six, or twelve months—or specify custom dates
  4. Enter your email address, then confirm it
  5. Enter your M‑PESA PIN
  6. Within minutes, you’ll receive a password‑protected PDF via email; use your national ID or passport number to open it

Option 2: Using the M‑PESA or MySafaricom App

Requires a stable internet connection:

  1. Open the M‑PESA or MySafaricom app and authenticate (PIN or fingerprint)
  2. Tap M‑PESA → Statements
  3. Select your preferred date range or choose custom dates
  4. Choose to Export or Email the statement
  5. You’ll receive the digitally stamped statement instantly via app or email

Option 3: Via Self‑Care Web Portal

Accessible via a browser on any internet‑enabled device:

  1. Log in to the Safaricom Self‑Care Web Portal
  2. Navigate to M‑PESA Statement
  3. Select the period (up to 12 months, or older if available)
  4. Submit your request—Safaricom emails the secure PDF to you

When You Need Statements Older Than Two Years or Court‑Certified Copies

If you require older statements or legally certified versions without disclaimers, visit a Safaricom retail location with your original ID. For civil court usage, you must fill out a statement request form and provide identification—Safaricom will guide you through the process. Note that certified statements are only for civil, not criminal cases

Additional Insights & Tips

  • There is no fee for accessing e‑stamped statements online—it’s free for all M‑PESA users
  • Most statements arrive in your inbox within five minutes per Safaricom data
  • For financial institutions, loan applications, visa processing, audits, reconciling income, or legal purposes these e‑stamped statements are widely accepted.
  • Given Kenya’s data protection laws, Safaricom minimizes sensitive personal details in these records, safeguarding customer privacy
  • If your email address changes, you can simply enter the new one when requesting a statement—no need to re-register

Summary

Safaricom’s e‑stamped M‑PESA statement is now the fastest, most secure way to obtain a verified transaction history whether you need it for banking, visa applications, legal documentation, or financial record-keeping. Generated instantly via USSD, mobile app, or web portal, it aligns with institutional requirements and privacy regulations, saving you time and effort.
