How to Apply for an Absher Card

1. Online Application

  • Visit the Ministry of Labour website: www.mol.gov.ae.
  • On the homepage, click “Absher.”
  • Select “Register Emirati Citizen Working in the Private Sector.”
  • Enter your Labour Card Number.
  • Complete the online form accurately and upload all required documents.
  • Carefully review and accept the terms and conditions before submission.

2. Application Review and Approval

  • If you meet all eligibility criteria, the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (MOHRE) will review your application.
  • You will be contacted by the Ministry once your application is approved.
  • Your Absher Card will be issued and delivered to you.
  • Present a valid ID to collect your card.

Required Documents

  • A registered and active Labour Card issued by the Ministry of Labour.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for an Absher Card, you must:

  1. Be an Emirati citizen employed in the private sector.
  2. Hold an active labour card issued by the Ministry of Labour.
  3. Have at least six months of continuous employment with the same company (calculated from the date of labour card issuance).
  4. Be registered with either the General Authority for Pensions and Social Security or the Abu Dhabi Pensions and Retirement Fund.
  5. Have a minimum of three months’ salary transferred through the Wages Protection System (WPS).
  6. Complete the registration form fully and obtain electronic approval.

Fees

The Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation does not currently list specific fees for obtaining the Absher Card. Applicants should confirm whether charges apply during the online application process or by contacting MOHRE directly.

  • Applications are typically processed within 7 working days.

Validity

  • The validity of the Absher Card will be specified upon issuance. Applicants are encouraged to check with MOHRE for details on renewal or expiration dates.
