Managing your banking details well is essential for keeping your account secure and clutter-free. As time passes, you may save beneficiaries you no longer need or want to clear outdated payment details to avoid errors. The Absa mobile app allows you to remove beneficiaries, although the option can be difficult to spot if you’re not familiar with the interface. Knowing where these settings are located helps you clean up your payment list quickly, safely and confidently. The guide below outlines clear steps to help you delete a beneficiary on the Absa app without stress.

Start by Logging Into the App

Begin by opening the Absa mobile banking app on your device. Log in using your PIN, password or biometrics. Always ensure you are connected to a secure network when accessing sensitive banking information. After signing in, your dashboard will display your account overview and main navigation menu.

Go to the Beneficiaries Section

To access your saved beneficiaries, tap the “Payments” option from the main menu. This will open various payment-related tools. Look for “Manage Beneficiaries” or “My Beneficiaries,” depending on your app version. Here, you will find every contact you have previously used for EFT transactions.

Choose the Beneficiary to Remove

Scroll through the list until you locate the beneficiary you want to delete. Select the name to view more information such as bank details, account number and reference notes. Confirm that you have selected the correct person to avoid removing an active contact by mistake.

Use the Options Menu to Delete

After opening the beneficiary details page, look for the options icon, usually shown as three dots or an “Edit” button. When you tap it, extra actions will appear. Select “Delete Beneficiary” or “Remove” and confirm your choice when the app requests verification. This step helps prevent accidental deletions.

Authenticate for Security

For your protection, the Absa app may require you to verify the deletion using your PIN or biometric login. This added security layer ensures only authorized users can make changes to your beneficiary list. Once approved, the beneficiary will be removed permanently.

Confirm the Updated List

To make sure the process is complete, refresh the screen or return to the beneficiary list. If the name no longer appears, the deletion was successful. Keeping your saved contacts up to date makes future payments easier, safer and more organized.
