Overview
Originally founded in 1966 as Kenya Canners Sacco by employees of Del Monte (K) Limited, Azima Sacco Society Limited was re-registered on April 13, 1987, under the Co-operative Societies Act (Cap 490). Based in Thika, the Sacco has grown to serve 10,344 members through its Back Office Service Activity (BOSA) and Front Office Service Activity (FOSA) operations. In 2016, Azima Sacco opened its membership to the public, expanding its mission to promote financial growth for all. With an asset base supporting its operations, the Sacco maintains branches in Thika and Ol Donyo Sabuk, offering a range of financial services.
Who Can Join?
Azima Sacco welcomes anyone who aligns with its common bond, making membership accessible to a broad audience. While the majority of its members are employees of Del Monte Kenya Limited in Thika, the Sacco’s inclusive policy invites individuals and groups from various sectors to join.
Membership Requirements
To become a member of Azima Sacco, applicants must:
- Complete a membership application form, available on the Sacco’s website, at its headquarters, or at any branch
- Pay a one-time membership fee of KES 600
- Purchase 600 shares at KES 20 each, totaling KES 12,000
- Contribute a minimum monthly deposit of KES 1,000
