Overview

Good Faith Sacco began as a self-help group on October 10, 1996, founded by eight Christian members of the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya in Githirioni. United by a vision to create a faith-based institution for pooling resources, the Sacco aimed to foster savings, reduce poverty, and enhance members’ quality of life. Officially registered on November 21, 2001, as Good Faith Sacco (certificate No. 9709), it is now a licensed deposit-taking cooperative under the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA). With an asset base exceeding KES 70 million and a membership of approximately 2,500, the Sacco operates from its head office in Uplands, Nyambari, Kiambu County.

Who Can Join?

Good Faith Sacco welcomes a diverse membership, including:

  • Farmers
  • Business owners
  • Investment groups
  • Pensioners
  • Salaried employees

This open membership policy ensures inclusivity for individuals and groups seeking financial empowerment.

Membership Requirements

The Sacco offers three membership categories, each with straightforward requirements:

Individual Membership

  • Complete a membership application form
  • Submit a copy of a National ID and KRA PIN certificate
  • Pay a one-time registration fee of KES 600

Joint Membership

  • Complete a membership application form
  • Provide copies of National IDs and KRA PIN certificates for both applicants
  • Pay a one-time registration fee of KES 600

Group Membership

  • Complete a group membership application form
  • Submit copies of National IDs and KRA PIN certificates for authorized signatories
  • Provide group minutes resolving to open an account with Good Faith Sacco
  • Include a group registration certificate
  • Pay a one-time registration fee of KES 600

FOSA Accounts

  • Savings Account: General-purpose savings
  • Group Account: For chamas or collectives
  • Boda Boda Account: Tailored for boda boda operators
  • Joint Account: For shared financial goals
  • Fixed Deposit Account: High-yield savings with fixed terms
  • Junior Account: Savings for children
  • Institution Account: For organizations

FOSA Loans

  • Biashara Loan: For business expansion
  • Payslip Loan: For salaried employees
  • Asset Finance Loan: For acquiring assets like vehicles or equipment

BOSA Products

Savings

  • BOSA Savings: General savings for loan eligibility
  • Sacco Shares: Minimum 500 shares at KES 20 each, earning dividends
