Founded on March 25, 1994, and officially registered on November 11, 1994, Airports Sacco is a dynamic savings and credit co-operative society dedicated to enhancing financial services for its members. Starting with a share capital of KES 240,000, the Sacco joined the Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Co-operatives (KUSCCO) in the same year, securing 100 shares worth KES 10,000. Based at the Kenya Airports Authority Headquarters, KAA Fire Training School in Nairobi, Airports Sacco supports a growing membership with tailored financial solutions.
Who Can Join?
Airports Sacco welcomes members from:
- Employees of the Kenya Airports Authority
- Individuals and organizations working within or around Kenya’s airports
This inclusive membership structure fosters financial growth for those connected to the aviation sector.
Membership Requirements
To become a member of Airports Sacco, applicants must:
- Pay a one-time entrance fee of KES 2,500
- Purchase a minimum of 250 shares at KES 20 each, totaling KES 5,000 (or as determined by the general meeting)
- Complete a membership application process, with admission confirmed by the management board and ratified at the next general meeting
- Sign or provide a thumb mark in the membership register in the presence of two board members, accepting the Sacco’s by-laws
- Pay for a copy of the Sacco’s by-laws at its actual cost
Upon approval, the member’s name is recorded in the membership register, and a unique membership number is issued.
Membership Rights
As a member of Airports Sacco, you are entitled to:
- Attend and contribute to decision-making at general meetings, with voting rights
- Run for leadership roles within the Sacco, subject to by-laws
- Access all Sacco facilities and services as outlined in the by-laws
- Review legitimate information, including internal regulations, meeting minutes, supervisory committee reports, annual accounts, inventories, and investigation reports at the Sacco’s registered office
