Foreign or local architects seeking to practice architecture temporarily in Uganda are required to obtain a Temporary Registration Certificate from the Architects Registration Board (ARB) under the Architects Registration Act. This certificate allows qualified professionals to legally undertake architectural projects in Uganda for a limited duration typically one year while ensuring compliance with national standards.

The ARB regulates architectural practice, ensuring that both resident and visiting architects maintain the integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct required in Uganda’s construction and design sector.

Step 1: Obtain the Temporary Registration Form

Visit the Architects Registration Board (ARB) in Kampala to collect Form TR — the official Temporary Registration Application Form (under Section 11(2) of the Architects Registration Act).
