Overview

Founded on January 21, 1997, as Thika District Teachers Sacco, Orient Sacco Society Limited began operations in April 1997 with 598 members. Rebranded on January 11, 2013, under the Co-operative Societies Act (Cap 490), the Sacco has grown into a dynamic deposit-taking institution. Based at Orient Sacco Building in Thika Section 9, Thika Town, Orient Sacco offers a range of savings and credit products to support the financial goals of its diverse membership.

Who Can Join?

Orient Sacco welcomes all Kenyan individuals and groups, making membership accessible to anyone motivated to save and invest for their future. This open policy fosters inclusivity across various professions and communities.

Membership Requirements

To join Orient Sacco, applicants must:

  • Download and complete the membership application form from the Sacco’s website
  • Attach a passport-size photograph and a copy of a National ID
  • Provide a copy of a KRA PIN certificate
  • Pay a one-time registration fee of KES 500
  • Scan and email the completed form and documents to [email protected]

There is no minimum monthly contribution, allowing members to save according to their personal financial goals. Upon successful registration, members receive an SMS notification with their unique member number.
