Mercedes-Benz Turns Your Car Into a Smart Mobile Office with Microsoft Teams and AI Assistant Integration
Mercedes-Benz is redefining what it means to work on the move by bringing Microsoft Teams directly into its vehicles starting with the upcoming CLA model. For the first time, drivers will be able to participate in Teams video calls using the car’s built-in camera system, setting a new benchmark in the fusion of automotive design and digital collaboration tools.
This groundbreaking development marks Mercedes-Benz as the first car manufacturer to offer in-vehicle video conferencing while driving. It’s made possible through the brand’s newly developed MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System) and the latest fourth-generation MBUX infotainment system.
A Seamless Collaboration Experience on the Road
Here’s how the feature works: when you’re parked or stationary, the vehicle’s interior camera can stream your video during Microsoft Teams meetings. As soon as the car is in motion, however, the video feed from the driver’s camera is automatically deactivated to minimize distractions and ensure compliance with road safety regulations.
Audio functionality remains fully accessible you can listen to your colleagues and speak during meetings without issue. Content that might cause distraction, such as screen shares or presentation slides, is also hidden while driving. Passengers, however, retain full access to these features if necessary.
This balanced approach provides a safe yet functional solution for staying connected during commutes or long drives.
Microsoft 365 Copilot: Your AI Co-Driver for Productivity
The innovation doesn’t stop at video calls. Mercedes-Benz is also introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot into its vehicles, transforming your car into a hands-free productivity hub. With AI-powered voice control, drivers will be able to perform a wide range of tasks including drafting emails, managing calendars, replying to messages, and summarizing documents without ever needing to look at a screen or press a button.
This integration is designed to support a hands on the wheel, eyes on the road experience, making it easier than ever to stay productive during travel.
Driving Into the Future of Work
As remote and hybrid work styles continue to gain traction, the demand for on-the-go productivity tools has never been higher. Mercedes-Benz’s strategic partnership with Microsoft reflects a deeper shift in how professionals blend mobility with efficiency. By bringing enterprise level tools like Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot into the driving environment, Mercedes-Benz isn’t just enhancing convenience it’s shaping the future of mobile work.
