Aviation Medical Examiners (AMEs) are licensed doctors appointed by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) to evaluate the medical fitness of pilots, air traffic controllers, cabin crew, and other aviation personnel.

As of now, Kenya has only 13 active KCAA-approved AMEs.

Qualifications Required to Become a KCAA Aviation Medical Examiner

To be appointed by KCAA, a medical practitioner must:

Be a qualified and licensed medical doctor.
Have completed recognized aviation medicine training.
Demonstrate proven competence in aviation medicine.
Have practical knowledge of aviation working conditions and safety demands.
