Checking and settling your Kenya Power (KPLC) postpaid electricity bill has never been easier. You can now pay using M‑Pesa, Airtel Money, or Equitel (EazzyPay) straight from your phone no queueing at branches required.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through each mobile payment option.


Ready to Pay? Make sure you have your postpaid account number on hand.


Option 1: Pay via M‑Pesa PayBill (Safe and Common Method)

Postpaid users should use the PayBill number 888 888  a trusted and widely used method.

Steps:

  1. Open the Safaricom menu or dial *334#.
  2. Choose Lipa na M‑Pesa → Pay Bill.
  3. Enter business number: 888 888.
  4. Input your KPLC account number (e.g., 123456).
  5. Enter the amount to pay (between Ksh 100–35,000).
  6. Key in your M‑Pesa PIN, confirm and send.
  7. Receive confirmation from M‑Pesa and later from KPLC.

Note: It may take up to 48 hours for the payment to reflect on Kenya Power’s records.


Option 2: Pay via Airtel Money

Perfect if you use Airtel and prefer not to use Safaricom services.

Steps:

  1. Open your Airtel Money menu.
  2. Go to Make Payments → PayBill.
  3. Choose Kenya Power Bill (Postpaid).
  4. Enter the payment amount.
  5. Key in your Airtel Money PIN.
  6. Input your KPLC account number.
  7. Confirm the details and submit.
  8. Expect SMS confirmation of the transaction.

Payment may take up to 24 hours to reflect on your KPLC account.

If you’re an Equity Bank or Equitel user, this method integrates banking and billing seamlessly.

Steps:

  1. From your Equitel SIM, select Eazzy Pay → Pay Bill.
  2. Choose the bank account to pay from.
  3. Select business code: KPLC Bills (Postpaid).
  4. Enter your full account number (e.g., 2831172-01).
  5. Input the amount (up to Ksh 500,000).
  6. Enter your Equitel PIN and confirm.
  7. Receive an SMS confirmation from Equity Bank.

Payments typically reflect in your electricity account the same day.
