On December 7, 2025, Qatar Airways Group appointed Mr. Hamad Ali Al Khater as the new Group Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, who has served in this capacity until now.
Mr. Al Khater brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at Hamad International Airport. His leadership there focused on enhancing operational safety, reliability, and passenger experience, while spearheading major infrastructure projects and operational initiatives.
Before joining Hamad International Airport, Mr. Al Khater had an extensive career at QatarEnergy, where he held senior leadership roles, focusing on business development and overseeing strategic and operational projects.
His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Chairman of Qatar Airways Group, expressed gratitude to Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer for his contributions and welcomed Mr. Al Khater as the new CEO.
