As a Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) accredited institution since 2008, Flight Training Centre offers comprehensive pilot training programs across its campuses in Nairobi (Wilson Airport), Mombasa, and Nyeri. This updated 2024 guide details course offerings, durations, requirements, and complete fee structures.

1. Private Pilot License (PPL)

Duration: 4-6 months
Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 17 years
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • Student Pilot License
  • English language proficiency
  • 40 minimum flight hours

Fee Breakdown (USD):

  • Flight Hours (40 @ $210): $8,400
  • Ground School: $1,200
  • Registration: $30
  • Pilot Kit/Uniform: $1,000

2. Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

Duration: 7-12 months
Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • 160 minimum flight hours

  • Ground School: $1,800

3. Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MIR)

Duration: 1-2 months
Advanced Training Includes:

  • Multi-engine aircraft operation

  • Simulator (20hrs @ $60): $1,200
