Mount Kenya Academy 2025 Fee Structure – Junior and Senior School

Mount Kenya Academy, established in 1982, is a leading private school located in King’ong’o along the Nyeri–Kiganjo Highway. The school offers a dual curriculum — the Kenyan National Curriculum (including CBC and KCSE) and the British National Curriculum (IGCSE and Cambridge A-Levels) — from Grade 1 through to Year 13.

  • Junior School Campus (Grades 1–9 and Years 7–8)
  • Senior School Campus (KCSE, IGCSE, A-Levels – Year 9–13)

A. Junior School Campus Fee Structure 2025

One-Time Charges

  • Admission Fee:
    • Day Scholars: Ksh 6,000
    • Boarders: Ksh 12,000
  • Caution Money: Ksh 10,000 (refundable)
  • Interview Fee: Ksh 2,500

    • Brass/Guitar/Drums: Ksh 11,500 per instrument
    • Violin/Viola/Cello/Guitar Rental: Ksh 3,000
    • Karate: Ksh 3,500
    • Chess: Ksh 4,000

B. Senior School Campus Fee Structure 2025

One-Time Charges

  • Application Fee: Ksh 3,500
  • Registration Fee: Ksh 15,000
  • Caution Money: Ksh 20,000 (refundable)
  • Interview Fee: Ksh 3,500
  • Lunch (Optional for Day Scholars): Ksh 18,700 per term
