Entrance Fees and Visitor Information for Shimba Hills National Reserve

Located in Kwale County, Shimba Hills National Reserve spans approximately 192.5 square kilometers and is managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). As one of East Africa’s largest coastal rainforests, the reserve plays a vital role in conservation and ecotourism.

Shimba Hills is home to over 700 elephants, making it one of the top elephant habitats in Kenya. It is also the only park in the country where you can spot the rare and striking Sable antelope. Additionally, the reserve hosts a diverse range of wildlife including giraffes, leopards, hyenas, vervet and Sykes monkeys, reptiles, and more than 100 bird species.

The park offers excellent opportunities for game viewing, camping, bird watching, and guided nature walks. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Sheldrick Falls and the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary.
