Overview

Originally registered as South Imenti Tea Growers Sacco under the Societies Act (CS 6366), Yetu Sacco was founded with a vision to empower its members through savings and credit services. In 2010, it rebranded to Yetu Sacco to reflect its expanded presence beyond South Imenti in Meru County. With an asset base of over KES 5.37 billion, it stands as one of Kenya’s largest deposit-taking Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies. Headquartered along Nkubu-Mikumbune Road in Nkubu, Yetu Sacco is driven by committed leadership and a member-focused approach.

Who Can Join?

Yetu Sacco welcomes a diverse membership, including:

  • Farmers
  • Business owners
  • Employees in private and public sectors
  • Corporate institutions
  • Microfinance groups

Membership is open to all Kenyans, both locally and in the diaspora, fostering inclusivity across various professions and communities.

Membership Requirements

To join Yetu Sacco, applicants must meet specific requirements based on their residency status.

For Local Members

  • Complete a membership application form, available on the Sacco’s website or at any branch office.
  • Provide a copy of a National ID.
  • Submit passport-size photographs.
  • Pay a one-time registration fee of KES 1,000.
  • Contribute an initial share capital of KES 200.

For Diaspora Members

  • Fill out the membership application form, downloadable from the Sacco’s website.
  • Attach a copy of a National ID or passport.
  • Comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
