Setting up a stop order on the Capitec app is an effective way to automate regular payments so money leaves your account on the dates you choose. This helps you stay organised when paying loans, savings, subscriptions, or sending money to someone consistently. Once you know where the tools are located in the app, the process becomes quick and straightforward. Understanding how to set the amount, timing, and beneficiary ensures each payment runs smoothly.

Log In to Your Capitec App
Begin by opening the Capitec mobile banking app on your smartphone and signing in with your PIN. Check that you are connected to the internet. After logging in, you will see the home dashboard, where your accounts and key features are clearly displayed for easy navigation.

Go to the Payments Section
Look for the Transact or Payments option from the main menu. This area contains everything related to transferring money. Tap the option to access different payment tools, including immediate payments, beneficiary management, and scheduled transactions such as stop orders.

Select the Beneficiary or Add a New One
To create a stop order, you must have the correct beneficiary saved. Choose an existing beneficiary from your list if one is already set up. If not, tap Add Beneficiary and fill in the account details. Double-check the name, bank, and account number before moving forward because stop orders repeat automatically and must be directed to the right account.

Choose the Option to Schedule the Payment
After selecting the beneficiary, tap Pay and look for the option that allows scheduling. The app usually displays a Repeat Payment or Scheduled Payment section. This is where you convert a normal transfer into a repeating stop order.

Set the Amount, Frequency and Start Date
Type in the exact amount you want to send each cycle. Then select how often the transaction should repeat, whether monthly, weekly, or on specific dates. You can also choose the starting date for the first deduction. Ensure the schedule aligns with your payment or salary dates to avoid missed transactions.

Confirm and Save the Stop Order
After entering all details, tap Confirm. Review the summary to ensure all information is correct before finalising the setup. Once completed, the Capitec app activates your stop order, and the payments will run automatically according to the schedule you selected.
