Mt Kenya Flight School is among the 24 aviation training institutions in Kenya officially licensed by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA). Located just opposite the Nanyuki Airstrip along the Nanyuki–Nyeri Highway, the school offers professional pilot training tailored to meet both local and international standards.

Aspiring aviators can enroll in two main programs:

  • Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
  • Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

These programs are designed for students at different stages in their aviation careers—from beginners to those pursuing commercial flying certifications.


Entry Requirements

To be considered for enrollment at Mt Kenya Flight School, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

General Enrolment Criteria

  • Must be 16 years or older
  • KCSE or equivalent O’ level pass
  • Minimum C+ grade in:
    • Mathematics
    • English
    • Geography
    • One Science subject (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, or Biology)
  • Valid aviation medical certificate issued by an approved KCAA AV-MED examiner
  • Copies of:
    • Academic certificates
    • National ID, birth certificate, or passport
  • Six passport-sized photos (three standard, three 2cm x 2.5cm)

 Documents Required for Admission

  1. Official admission letter from the school
  2. Copy of ID, birth certificate, or passport
  3. Medical certificate from KCAA-approved aviation medical examiners
  4. Academic transcripts and certificates
  5. Certificate of good conduct (from relevant authority)
