1. Antenatal Clinic Package

Antenatal care plays a crucial role in safeguarding the health of expectant mothers and their babies. Metropolitan Hospital recommends that mothers begin their visits between 8–12 weeks of pregnancy to allow for timely monitoring and health planning.
Package Inclusions:
- 8 comprehensive antenatal clinic appointments
- Prenatal classes led by qualified midwives
- Essential laboratory tests: Full blood count, VDRL, blood grouping, urinalysis, Hepatitis B Surface Antigen, random blood sugar, and malaria screening
- HIV testing and counselling
- Two obstetric ultrasound scans
- Iron, folic acid, and calcium supplements
2. Delivery Packages
Expectant mothers can choose between midwife-assisted delivery, doctor-assisted delivery, or caesarean section, depending on their health needs and preferences.
a) Midwife-Assisted Delivery
Cost: Ksh 40,000
Ideal for low-risk pregnancies, this package includes:
- Two-day stay in a general ward
- Two days of newborn nursery care
- Medicines and dressings (excluding induction drugs like prostaglandins)
- Delivery by experienced midwives
- Post-delivery baby assessment by the hospital doctor
- KEPI vaccinations: BCG and birth polio
- PMTCT services (Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission) and counselling

b) Doctor-Assisted Delivery

Inclusions mirror the midwife package, with the following differences:

c) Caesarean Section Delivery

Designed for mothers requiring or opting for caesarean delivery, this package includes:
- 3 to 4 days’ stay in the general ward
- 3 days of nursery care for the baby
