Trans Nation Sacco: A Legacy of Financial Growth Since 1993

Originally established as Tharaka Nithi Teachers Sacco following the division of Meru Teachers Sacco, Trans Nation Sacco was officially registered on 28th June 1993 (Registration No. C/S 6826). Today, it stands as:

  • One of Kenya’s largest deposit-taking Saccos with KSh 9.70 billion in assets
  • SASRA-compliant financial institution

Membership Eligibility

Trans Nation Sacco maintains an open membership policy, welcoming all Kenyan citizens who meet the basic requirements, including:

  • Teachers and education professionals
  • Civil servants

Membership Requirements

Documentation Needed

  1. Completed membership application form (available online or at branches)
  2. Clear copy of National ID (both sides)
  3. Recent passport-sized color photograph

Financial Commitments

  • KSh 500 entrance fee
  • KSh 10,000 share capital (as per by-laws)
  • KSh 200 monthly risk fund contribution

  • Employed members: KSh 2,000 minimum
  • Business owners: KSh 1,500 minimum
  • Retirees: KSh 500 minimum
  • ECDE teachers: KSh 1,000 minimum
