Stima DT Sacco: Membership Eligibility and Requirements

Stima DT Sacco stands as one of Kenya’s leading deposit-taking cooperatives, boasting an impressive asset base of KSh 53.78 billion. Founded in 1974 to serve employees of the former East African Power & Lighting Company, it has since expanded to welcome members from all sectors, including salaried employees, business owners, groups, and corporate entities.

Who Can Join Stima Sacco?

Stima Sacco maintains an inclusive membership policy, open to:

  • Individuals (employed or self-employed)
  • Joint applicants (e.g., spouses or business partners)
  • Groups (chamas, self-help groups with 4+ members)
  • Corporate entities (registered businesses and institutions)

Detailed Membership Requirements

1. Individual Membership

  • Completed membership application form
  • Copy of National ID/Passport
  • Passport-sized photograph (recent)
  • KRA PIN certificate copy
  • Registration fee: KSh 500
  • Share capital: KSh 25,000 (one-time payment)
  • Minimum monthly savings: KSh 1,000

2. Joint Membership

  • Completed application form for both applicants
  • National ID/Passport copies for both members
  • Passport photos of both applicants
  • KRA PIN certificate
  • Registration fee: KSh 500
  • Share capital: KSh 25,000

3. Group Membership (Chamas/Self-Help Groups)

  • Completed corporate membership application form
  • Group’s registration certificate
  • Meeting minutes resolving to join Stima Sacco
  • Group constitution
  • IDs, KRA PINs, and photos of authorized signatories
  • List of all group members
  • Registration fee: KSh 500
  • Share capital: KSh 25,000
  • Minimum monthly savings: KSh 5,000

4. Corporate Membership

  • Completed corporate application form
  • Board resolution approving Sacco membership
  • Certificate of incorporation
  • IDs of signatories
  • Memorandum & Articles of Association
  • KRA PIN certificate
  • Registration fee: KSh 500
  • Share capital: KSh 50,000
  • Minimum monthly savings: KSh 10,000
