Introduction
Gusii Mwalimu SACCO is a reputable, member-driven financial cooperative offering a wide range of affordable financial services. Established in 1977 and officially operational from 1979, the SACCO has grown to become one of Kenya’s leading deposit-taking SACCOs, with an asset base of approximately Ksh 12.85 billion.

It is designed to meet the financial needs of its members by providing savings, credit, and investment products under fair and sustainable terms.


Who Can Join Gusii Mwalimu SACCO?

Membership is open to individuals from a broad spectrum of professional and institutional backgrounds, including:

  • Teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions
  • Lecturers and staff in both public and private universities
  • Employees of the TSC Secretariat
  • Staff members of Gusii Mwalimu SACCO Society
  • Workers in national and county governments, ministries, and state agencies
  • Civil servants across various departments
  • Employees of NGOs and related organizations
  • Retired professionals and pensioners

Gusii Mwalimu SACCO Membership Requirements

To become a member, the following conditions must be met:

  • Entrance Fee: Ksh 1,000 (one-time payment)
  • Minimum Monthly Deposit Contribution: Ksh 1,000
  • Burial Benevolent Fund (BBF): Ksh 200 per month for members within the common bond
  • Share Capital Requirement: Ksh 20,000 (can be paid in installments)
  • Rejoining Fee: Ksh 1,000 (for former members reapplying)
