OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Health, a new feature within ChatGPT that allows users to connect their health data from popular wellness apps like Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, Peloton, and more. Designed to help individuals take an active role in managing their health and wellness, ChatGPTHealth is tailored for personalized health insights, offering users a convenient platform to track and analyze their wellness data.
In collaboration with physicians, ChatGPT Health aims to provide a safe, interactive environment where users can ask health-related questions. It promises secure data handling, with “purpose-built encryption and isolation” to ensure the confidentiality of health conversations. OpenAI has also reassured users that it will not use health chats to train its models, and users can further secure their data by enabling multi-factor authentication.
A key feature of ChatGPT Health is its ability to interpret data from wearables and wellness apps, helping users make sense of their fitness progress, lab results, and care instructions. Users can also prepare questions for medical appointments and receive clear, accessible explanations of complex health information. For those seeking medical record integration, OpenAI has partnered with b.well, the largest secure health data network for US consumers, ensuring that medical records are safely handled.
Currently, ChatGPT Health is available to a small group of early users, excluding the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK. Medical record integrations are exclusive to US users at the moment, but the expansion of this feature is expected in the future.
