How to Apply for a Bookmaker License in Uganda

If you need to verify your academic results or obtain a certificate replacement, you can apply for a Letter of Verification from the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB). This document serves as an official confirmation of your academic qualifications and is particularly useful if your original result slips or certificates have been lost or damaged.

Here’s a detailed guide on how to apply for a Letter of Verification from UNEB, whether you’re applying as an individual or on behalf of an institution.

Apply Online (As Individual)

  1. Visit UNEB e-Service Portal
    • Go to the UNEB e-service portal and select “Apply as Individuals” to start your application.
  2. Fill the Application Form
    • Carefully read through the instructions and fill in the application form with accurate details.
  3. Upload Required Documents
    • Upload all necessary documents, including:
      • Valid identity card or passport
      • Application form with personal details
      • Payment proof
      • Passport-sized photo
  4. Submit the Application
    • Review the application and confirm your declaration before submitting it to UNEB.
  5. Fee Payment
    • You will receive fee deposit guidelines after submitting the application. Payment can be made via Airtel/MTN Mobile Money or Bank Deposit.
  6. Receive the Letter
    • After payment confirmation, you will receive your Letter of Verification either by email or post.

Apply Online (As Non-Individual)

  1. Visit UNEB e-Service Portal
    • Visit the UNEB e-service portal and select “Apply as Non-Individuals”.
  2. Fill the Application Form
    • Carefully complete the application form with details for the institution or organization you’re applying on behalf of.
  3. Upload Required Documents
    • Upload the necessary supporting documents, including:
      • Letter of request to the Executive Secretary of UNEB
      • Excel file listing candidates’ details
      • Payment proof
  4. Submit the Application
    • Review the application and confirm your declaration before submitting it.
  5. Payment and Processing
    • After submission, you will receive instructions for making the payment. Once the payment is confirmed, the Letter of Verification will be issued.

Apply In-Person

  1. Visit UNEB Head Office
    • Go to the UNEB head office in Ntinda, Kampala.
  2. Complete the Application Form
    • Fill out the application form provided at the office. Ensure all required documents are attached, including a passport-sized photo and proof of identity.
  3. Submit the Application
    • Submit your completed form and required documents to the UNEB officer.
  4. Pay the Application Fee
    • Pay the prescribed fee at the bank (details will be provided at UNEB) and submit the payment slip with your application.
  5. Receive the Letter
    • After verification and processing, you will receive your Letter of Verification within 10-15 days.

Required Documents

For Individual Applicants:

  • Introduction letter from your former school.
  • Valid identity card (ID, passport, or driver’s license).
  • Letter from police if the result slip or certificate was lost.
  • Passport-sized photograph with your name written on the reverse.
  • Payment proof as per the fee structure.

For Non-Individual Applicants:

  • Letter of request addressed to UNEB.
  • Excel file with the list of candidates’ details.
  • Payment proof for the fee.

Fees

  • Ordinary Letter of Verification: UGX 50,000
  • Hard Card (Substitute for Certificate): UGX 100,000
  • Political/Special Verification: UGX 300,000
    (Payment can be made via Airtel/MTN Mobile Money or Bank Deposit)

Eligibility

  • Individuals: Any Ugandan who requires verification of their academic credentials.
  • Non-Individuals (Institutions/Organizations): Educational institutions, employers, and government bodies may apply on behalf of candidates.

Validity

  • The Letter of Verification is valid indefinitely and serves as proof of academic records.
