Second tickets sales to secure FIFA World Cup 2022 set to begin on Tuesday


Second sales period to secure FIFA World Cup  2022 tickets is all set to begin on Tuesday following the conclusion of the World Cup draw last Friday.
According to FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, the next stage will be another random draw selection, running from 12 noon on April 5 until 12 noon on April 28, Doha time.
During this period, one can apply for four types of tickets including individual match tickets, supporter tickets, conditional supporter tickets and four-stadium ticket series.
As per information on the FIFA website, it will make no difference if one enters the draw on the first day or the final day of the random draw selection period.
Successful ticket applicants will be notified of the outcome of their ticket applications by email no earlier than May 31, 2022, coinciding with the start of the payment period.
While FIFA has not confirmed how long the payment period will last, applicants will likely have around two weeks to pay based on the first random draw.
In the first phase of sales, fans have bought 804,186 tickets for matches at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
In a statement released on the occasion, Fifa said that interest in tickets mainly came from Qatar, the United States, England, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, India, Brazil, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia.
According to the schedule published by FIFA after the final draw was held, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will begin with a match between Senegal and the Netherlands at Al Thumama Stadium on November 21. Qatar will take on Ecuador at 7 pm on the same day at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.
Twenty-nine of the total 32 teams have qualified for the tournament so far, including hosts Qatar, with three slots still up for grabs.
