The Hot N Spicy BBQ Batty Burgers typically consist of a beef patty seasoned with spicy BBQ sauce, topped with jalapenos, onion rings, and pepper jack cheese.

The sweet chilli sauce in this recipe isn’t overpowering. If a hotter flavour is required, I like to add crushed chilli flakes that really drives me wild.


Tablespoons Sweet Chilli Sauce1
Teaspoons Ground Coriander1
Minced Beef1 onion, very finely chopped 450g (1 lb)
Tablespoon Vegetable Oil1


1. Heat the oil in a small pan and cook the onion for about 5 minutes until soft. Drain off and allow onion to chill.

2. Mix together the mince, garlic, cumin, coriander, tomato puree, chilli sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, mixed herbs, egg and crushed chilli flakes in a bowl. Stir in the onions and sprinkle over some salt and pepper.

3. Shape the mixture into eight burgers and chill for 30 minutes.

4. Fry, grill or barbecue the burgers for roughly 5 minutes each side, depending on taste.
