Membership Requirements
To join Port Sacco, applicants must meet specific requirements based on their membership category. Below is a detailed breakdown of the criteria for each type.
1. Individual Membership
To become an individual member, follow these steps:
- Fill out the individual membership application form, available for download on the Port Sacco website.
- Provide a copy of your Kenyan National ID or a valid Kenyan passport.
- Submit recent colored passport-size photographs.
- Include a copy of your KRA PIN certificate.
- Pay a one-time registration fee of Kshs 500.
- Commit to a minimum monthly deposit of Kshs 1,000.
- Contribute a share capital of Kshs 40,000.
2. Joint Membership
For those applying as a couple or a small group, the requirements are:
- Complete the joint membership application form.
- Submit copies of Kenyan National IDs or valid Kenyan passports for all applicants.
- Provide colored passport-size photographs for each applicant.
- Include copies of KRA PIN certificates for all applicants.
- Pay a registration fee of Kshs 500.
- Maintain a minimum monthly deposit of Kshs 1,000.
- Contribute a share capital of Kshs 40,000.
3. Group Membership
Chamas, self-help groups, and other registered groups can join by meeting these requirements:
- Complete the group membership application form.
- Provide copies of Kenyan National IDs or valid Kenyan passports for all group members.
- Submit colored passport-size photographs for all members.
- Include a copy of the group’s registration certificate.
- Provide copies of KRA PIN certificates for all group officials.
- Pay a registration fee of Kshs 500.
- Commit to a minimum monthly deposit of Kshs 5,000.
- Contribute a share capital of Kshs 40,000.
4. Corporate/Company Membership
Businesses, institutions, and organizations can join by fulfilling these requirements:
- Complete the company membership application form.
- Submit a certified copy of the company’s registration certificate.
- Provide a general meeting or board resolution authorizing the opening of an account with Port Sacco.
- Include the company’s memorandum and articles of association.
- Submit colored passport-size photographs of authorized signatories, along with copies of their IDs or passports.
- Provide signature specimens for the authorized signatories.
- Include copies of the KRA PIN certificates for the directors and the company.
- Pay a registration fee of Kshs 500.
- Maintain a minimum monthly deposit of Kshs 5,000.
